Issue
The battery in the devices can deplete prematurely, reducing the time between its elective replacement indicators and end of defibrillator life to less than three months.
Injuries
Although there have been no reports of serious injuries or deaths, Boston Scientific has confirmed 19 incidents of battery depletion.
Affected Models

The problem occurs in model H177 and H179 units.

The devices recalled may be specific to certain serial numbers and/or manufactured dates.
Recommendation
Patients with this device should contact their physicians.
